What Steve had to say:

What made you decide to lead a GIS consultancy?

I’ve always been interested in creating things.  At a very early age I enjoyed combining art and science and the natural outcome was a career solving problems.

What did you do before joining Interpret?

I had a variety of experiences designing engineering projects and then implementing and supervising the construction of projects.

What does a typical day in the office include?

Talking to lots of people; clients, the wider team and staying on top of the projects I’m leading.

What do you enjoy most about your job?

Making a difference - I can see the impact our team is making so communities have better places to live, work and play.  That is hugely satisfying.

What’s the most challenging thing about your job?

Time management.  So much to do, so many opportunities, always another goal.

What’s been your career highlight so far?

Being amazed at the personal growth of the young people in our team.

What do you enjoy doing in your spare time?

Water sports, especially wake boarding with my young family.
